Mike Maneechote, a Chicago-based music aficionado and recording enthusiast, has carved out a unique space in the local music scene. With a passion for sound that transcends genres, Mike has been an influential figure, known for his eclectic taste and deep knowledge of music history.
Mike's reputation as a knowledgeable and passionate music lover has made him a sought-after collaborator. He's not just a technician behind the mixing board; he's a storyteller, using his technical skills to bring out the emotion and power in every note.
Mike's journey began following his father's footsteps, and self teaching guitar at age 9. His formal studies began on violoncello soon after, establishing himself as a multi-instrumentalist able to weave in and out of many genres of music. As a teenagers, he started attending Chicago Blues open mics and gained an appreciation for the historic rock scene. Simultaneously, he explored classical music, touring Eastern Europe in 2001.
Encouraged by his colleagues, Mike attended The University of North Texas and graduated with Bachelors of Music in Jazz Arranging. During his time, he studied under noted professors Fred Hamilton and Paris Rutherford. Soon after college, Mike performed on board Carnival Cruise Lines from 2010-2015, performing with quality musicians from all over the world. He enjoyed playing Vegas style productions, most noteably "Purple Rain" in Far From Over.
Since 2015, Mike has resided in North Chicago. He regularly performs weddings with the Andrew Blake Band and is a member of the Lakeview Orchestra. Mike also performs around the Chicago area with various groups and theatre gigs. Recently, Mike has joined up with Sid Kingston, an original funk and reggae group, writing and producing. In addition to his music, he is currently planning a wedding with his actor fiance Rebecca Sparks, and best dog Romeo.
